All the problems should have been fixed now!

Looks as if you're right :)
Team -> OK, Profile -> OK, bad thread-ID -> no more.

THX a lot!

It seems a lot more has vanished. for example the profiles are as well gone for good.
And the thread about some project downtime in news is gone as well (Bad thread ID ), so I can't say what was written about this downtime, perhaps there were some explanations.

I wasn't sure where to post this. It appears my team, SETI.USA is no longer associated with me. I can't quit the team and rejoin, but it doesn't show as boinc that I belong to a team. In the upper right corner it says:
Database Error
Database Error
Database Error
and under team it says:
Member of team | Quit team
and doesn't list my team. How can my team get credit? On free-dc is shows that no one is earning credit for my team which isn't the case, I am sure. Thanks.

I just opened a thread about this problem over in NC

I just saw that I don't belong to a team in CAS according to the server response. So I looked in my account, and didn't see any there as well, but the link "Leave team" was still there.
Then I looked in the project team stats here and got this text only: "Es gibt keine Teams.", in english probably "There are no teams."

I definitely know that I was in SETI.Germany:

What has happened to the teams?

We have to go this way because we have very limited manpower at this moment, so reponse to the forum thread may take longer.

I can't come up with a single reason why this should be so.

One click on the link to the forum in your bookmarks, and you see where's something new in the last hours.
If you click in the different subfora, and for errors in the number crunching part, you can even see where's a new post that you haven't read yet, that's the thread with the little yellow thingy in front of the title.

Even if you bookmark all 4 (in words four) subfora seperately and click there one after the other, that's no more than 10 seconds to look for relevant posts. Do this first thing in the morning, when you go to lunchbreak, and last thing in the evening, and you will see quite fast if there is something fishy going on.

To proclaim that this procedure is more time-consuming than reading emails is unbelievable, it's plain wrong.

Edith says:
If this forum would be as crowded and lively as the one over at SETI, I could understand you a bit, but with this one here, with about 1-3 new posts per day, this excuse is just ridiculous.

Why don't you use this established forum, where others with the same questions can get the answers as well?
Why use something like email, that's strictly private, for help that should be strictly open?

I have recieved emails feedback about the computation error on SCThreader
as the following:

You have received enough feedback here in the forum about it, and decided to ignore it.
8) Message boards : Number crunching : Error on WU's (Message 538)

But eventually Mr. Wu Jie, the former project admin, gave us his email address, so that we could contact him more easily, because he didn't always have time to read through the forums.

That's a very lame excuse for an inactive forum like this one.
How many posts per day do we have here? 1 or 2, or even 3?
If the task of reading 3 posts per day is too exhausting for the poor staffers, how can they deal with other tasks?

No, not reading the input from the crunchers here is wilful neglect or extreme laziness, nothing else.

By the way, those of you who are able to read Chinese can also follow the Chinese cas@home forum at equn.com (http://www.equn.com/forum/forum-514-1.html), the project staff and the Chinese speaking crunchers regularly communicate there, too. If you can't read Chinese, maybe tools such as google translate might still enable you to get an idea of what crunchers are saying there.

If they don't want this forum and hate their international crunchers, why for fuck sake did they implement it at all?

They don't answer any questions in a meaningful manner, thus I think it's proper to deduct they don't want us, they are probably just arrogant a**holes.
10) Message boards : Number crunching : Error on WU's (Message 533)

The message is clear:
<message>
Maximum elapsed time exceeded
</message>

It's the same problem as in this thread.

And don't expect any answers from the project team, they don't care about their crunchers, they refuse to answer questions and just spit in out general direction.

Hi'
Why all the unit I compute get "Calcul error".
51 computed in a day and all with errors :
http://casathome.ihep.ac.cn/results.php?hostid=8473&offset=0&show_names=0&state=5&appid=
I don't even get one correctly computed...
What happen ?
Bye

It's probably the same as I mentioned here in this thread.

But don't expect any answers from the project team, they seem to hate their crunchers, at least they treat them with absolute disrespect.

The abort signal seems to coincide with this message: [sched_op] estimated total CPU task duration: 1256 seconds, that's roughly 20min, and after that time the message is: Aborting task wu_1333676978_14145_0: exceeded elapsed time limit 1282.15 (36000.00G/28.08G)

That's of course utterly wrong, you need to implement at least some leeway for crunching, i.e. for example stop the WU only after double the estimate is crunched. The extremely restrictive way you implemented the maximum time limit leads to an enormous amount of wasted crunch-time.

You don't answer any questions in the forum despite having massive problems, it's a slap in the face of us crunchers that you decide to actively ignore us.

You had all the time in the world to answer, or write anything meaningful, in the news or number crunching sections, instead you posted some socialite niceties about a visit by DA to your facility but still ignore the problems.

Your project is severely broken, perhaps most, but at least very much, of the computers once participating in the project can't get any new work because you botched the server maintenance severely. You cut out several thousand computers from your project. But you refuse to react to that, so we have to concede: You don't like us and you don't want us, you're fed up with us crunchers and ignore us.

Is this really the message you want to send to the world: "Bugger off you scum!"
Because that's what you're saying to us crunchers at the moment.

And after a wee while it's back to this:

So 01 Apr 2012 12:38:22 CEST | CAS@home | [sched_op] Deferring communication for 1 days 0 hr 0 min 0 sec
So 01 Apr 2012 12:38:22 CEST | CAS@home | [sched_op] Reason: 5 consecutive failures fetching scheduler list

5 times no useful answer from you project, so it's backing off for a whole day to let you correct your faults.
I can't even get my data from the project, because you severely messed up something on your server. In the BOINC-manager I'm still without credits and without a team, quite different from the reality.

Are you aware that you made some big mess of the maintenance?
How are you dealing with it?

The project is in running status, but it does not have many jobs as it did before because the current application(SCThread) will be upgraded to a new version(treeThreader) with more accurate algorithsm, more jobs will be created based on the new version! Sorry for the delay of answer!

The error messages my BOINC receives from your server give a different picture (I've got the <sched_op_debug> flag set in the cc_config.xml):
Fr 30 Mär 2012 21:52:48 CEST | CAS@home | Detaching from project

I've tried both, reset and detach/reattach, but that didn't help.
So BOINC says something's wrong with your project, and it doesn't look as if I could do anything about it on my machine.
Your master file seems to be wrong formatted, BOINC can't find any scheduler-URL in it. Don't ask me about what's wrong in details, I'm no programmer, but it's not my machine.

As you don't like to answer questions from your users about the status of the obviously broken project, I'll spread this a bit on all parts of this board.

Several people have asked you, here's the link to a thread created by me, about what went so terribly wrong with the "maintenance" some weeks ago. You refuse to give your users any answer until now.

Is there a way to get you a bit more customer friendly?
